New Tundra Damage at Delivery (PICS)

I know it's minor but still I paid for a new truck not one that has seen some abuse while on the lot. I wonder if the salesman was going to say anything if I hadn't showed it to him? I don't think a new Porsche is delivered to a customer looking like this. I told him I wanted this fixed so that the new Tundra I just purchased looked new. I could deal with this if it was something I did to it.
Got a good deal though. MSRP was $40,242. Sale price was $32,979 for a limited DC 4X4 TRD with sonar.

Body damage.

The plastic of the lens has a deep gouge in it.

They damaged my new tundra during cleanup after the purchase. I went ape$**t crazy. Like your case it was minor scratches on the passenger side of the bed. But as in your case I boutght a NEW tundra. The dealer did set up an appointment with the paint and body shop to have them touched up and buffed. Looks good ! ! The salesman made the mistake of telling me "Hey, it gives your truck attitude". I said no my man, it gives me the frigging attitude, just fix it........NOW !!!!

Was the damage seen by anyone at the dealership prior to the sale?

It must have been seen by the lot jockey who washed it as it was delivered from their sister dealership. My salesman told me he noticed it when he parked it out front for my delivery. He said he didn't see the taillight lens gouge. I pointed it out immediately to the salesman when I did my initial walk around and he said he would fix all of it. So far, he's sticking to his word as the truck is back at the dealership having the body damage re-sprayed and a new lens being installed. They put me in a new Rav 4 until it's done. So it looks as though the dealership is on the up and up and standing behind their product.

I would have done the same as you and have them take care of it right away. The only thing I had to deal with was waiting 3 weeks for my license plates. The dealer sat around and waited to process them. I got them on the day my temp tags expired.

I hope they can match the paint. Even with the same color paint some times its real easy to spot the new paint job.

Doesn't look minor to me I'd have been pretty pissed.

Other than that, you got an awesome deal I'd say!

When I bought mine the next day I was conditioning my leather seats and noticed a small cut in the rear seat, and a yellow grease stain on the drivers seat. Called my salesman and told him about it and he is going to have the leather repair man come to my house and fix it, no problem .

No, it was Ira Toyota of Manchester. However, it sounds more like something Grappone would try to pass off as NEW.

I have never had an issue with their (Grappone) service department as they have always been my servicing dealer on my '00 Tundra Limited. I do have an issue with their sales department however. They refused to offer any substantial discount on an '08. $3K not $7K plus. I also tried to purchase a new Prius for my wife from them and was treated like a second class citizen after having been a loyal customer for over 20 years and 2 previous purchases. They don't make it easy or fun. Their sales department is an enigma so I take my business elsewhere.

Salesman may not notice that damage. But the sales Manager does know about it. That's how they play that catch-21 with you. Like you I went in with the wife becasue she wanted a fully loaded Prius. She had to wait 3 days for it and we left the dealers in a Crewmax. Getting both gave us bargaining power. They didn't like my tactics but if you want both sold at once you give in alittle. Now back to damage here's what I seen 2 out of 5 Silverado's at 3 dealers had. I found this when I washed and dried off the truck and it was less than 2 weeks old. Headliner dropped on all 4 doors. Of this LT3 Ext Cab.
