Exclamation 2008 Tundra Transmission Problems "rumble strip"

Hey, I can't believe it I purchased a 08 tundra $30,000 and guess what rumble strip transmission noise. It has been in the dealer for a week and got approved for a brand new transmission that is being installed. I have only 900
miles on it and had it less than a month. I always thought the noise was from the VSC, Trac control, or the ABS in which the owner's manuel says you will hear these parts self test themselves. Not the case, everytime I would accelerate rumble strip feel in transmission at about 3400 rpms. It started at just once in a while and then got worse. EVERYONE listen to me if you are not paying attention and driving with the radio on you might not ever hear it. Listen during slow acceleration. I think toyota is trying to keep this issue on the down low. My dealership told me they had never heard of the problem but I read otherwise. I think this is a serious issue since there was only (1) 6-speed transmission left in all of southern California that was in stock in LA. Tundra owners watch out!!!

Maybe so but it's an issue that I thought was fixed. I'm glad the dealership stepped up and replaced it. I went through it with a 97 Thunderbird and they replace the oil with synthetic and the torque also. Under warranty but warranty doesn't pay for synthetic. Imagine that the fix for a warranted problem costs the consumer.

Tundra Tough, I know you don't like hearing this on a first post but I can't believe that this is happening. I had a 2000 tacoma for 8 years not one problem. Now i am a dad and need more room and decided to upgrade. I never thought I would have an issue like this with a toyota. I just can't wait to get my truck back, I miss it. I wrote this so you guys now about this issue and can take it in if you notice something. I work with a lot of people and a bunch have new tundra's, two of which now notice the vibration and are taking theirs in. I hope the new trans. fixes the problem because the truck is awesome and the power......are you kiddin!!

Also I heard from othe owners with the same problem they were giving out extended warrties? Is this true? I have a corperate manager from toyota calling me on Monday about the warranty.

could you feel this through the gas pedal?

I peridoically get a slight vibration through my gas pedal when accelerating, but I've never thought to turn the radio off to see if I can hear anything. I just assumed it was normal.

Everyone keep us informed on your results from the dealers. 4x4 Tundra sorry to hear about those changes. Any other issues with they truck? I've been through that on both Fords and Chevy. I feel your pain. How close did you get to the factory rep?
