Ramoine don't waste your time. They know they are people with thousand of posts help out and don't call someone a troll. The thought Ramoine is this if you going to say this is a bad site and all the post get a life then you invite being called whatever. I already put a post on this thread in which I dealt with a similar situation and the correction that was a fixed. If that's get a life than you people that belive in that there's no helping you here.

I have had the torque converter replaced, but still get a vibration in the gas pedal that I guess I can only feel, because the dealer doesn't seem to. Going to a different dealer to see what they say

Mickey: I had another problem with the truck when it was brand new, a cracked brake rotor. Dealer has been good about fixing problems. I did have a complaint the last time the trans went south, it took them almost 2 weeks to fix it (guess they were waiting for a part/parts).
Ramoine: who are you refering?
SpankyDD: my dealer said they have replaced transmissions in 08 tundras before.
Man a craked rotor. They give a reason why this failed? As for truck being in the shop for two weeks for me gave me the chance to try another vehicle out when my ford was in the shop. They gave me a chevy and then asked what I thought of the chevy rental. Needless to say I switched over was my only response. Since then Chevy would only give you a rental of a GM only so this wouldn't happen.

Did you do all you can to fix your truck or use lemon law? As far as this site goes try going to other sites like a silverado club which won't allow you to bash silverado's on that forum or the Titan club right away jumped on me for being a Tundra owner on their site. Not to mention the Titan site is identical to this site's makeup so go figure.

My Photos: () Thanks, but I'm about done here

Everyone was calling me a troll a few months ago because I posted up a letter about the fact that Toyota says not to sit or stand on the tailgate. I don't know why some people can't accept the fact that Toyota is not perfect.

Thanks for the support. I used to spend much more time on here, but now I'm elsewhere. I've notice this is a site for Tundra cheerleaders. Everyone here accuses you of not having a Tundra if you have a problem. Well I say:

IF YOU SAY YOU DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM, THEN YOU ARE THE ONE THAT DOESN'T HAVE A TUNDRA!!!!

Funny thing is, on those days the truck hasn't been in the shop, I've encountered other 07-08 Tundra owners on the road. These people admit they have had problems. Some of them are happy anyways, and some aren't. But I have yet to encounter one that doesn't have issues. On here, it's all, "God drives a Tundra."

Have the problems with the transmission been exclusive to the 4 x 4's
or have 2 wd's also had problems? Appreciate any input.

I thought the rumble strip feeling was the torque converter? I had mine replaced on my 07 and the rumble strip went away. I still feel a vibration though in the gas pedal.

I've got an 08 Tundra DC 4x4 5.7L 6 speed with 83xx miles on it and no problems and have been doing some moderate towing without any problems either.

R U guys sure its a transmission problem and not just road noise from the highway?

I discovered something the other day you might find interesting. You talk about a vibration in the gas pedal. Well I had no clue what you were talking about, until a couple of days ago. I was at a trafic light when I noticed this vibration in my gas pedal. All of a suden it flashed in my head all the comments. I started to freak out until I started accelerating and the motorcycle next to me excellerated faster and caused more vibration. Once he went away it was gone. I think you might be feeling some of the road noise. Just a thought. But that was the only time I noticed it. It might be picking up something from your truck or the road around you.

Has anyone approached Toyota about removing the "downshifting" code?

I prefer to gliding downhills to sip gas.

Help please

The downhill engine braking feature is disabled in S mode. This shifting is part of what Toyota calls "AI" (for Artificial Intelligence I guess). This "AI" is only active in D mode.

So, just drive in S mode and you'll be gliding down hills without engine braking.
