I don't know what San Antonio will feel like this winter. I have heard lows in the 30's and highs in the 70's. That's got the keep the bugs alive.
Coming from someone that lived in San Antonio and the Houston area all his life, It is not to bad in the winter. More like mid 40's with high of mid 70's

Only if it was done right.
If there was already dirt or any moisture on the truck, it's actually counter productive, since it's covering up the rust.
In TX I would not bother with it, here in Maine I wish I would have done it.
It would have prevented the bolt and clips to rust.
I still would have had however the rust on the bumper, mirror and doors.
Also like I wrote before, my wife’s 04 VW Tuareg does not rust and this car drove the same roads!

How many days of rain do you have?
Beside Big Bear, there is no such thing as snow or ice for a 100+ miles I guess?!

To me it sounded like, you either become a member and we swap everything for you under the carpet, or we list any (founded or unfounded) complain as unresolved and make that public!
I had a roof put on and it was a disaster. I checked first with the BBB to make sure that this company was OK.
The BBB listed this company as "Member since ....." with no "unresolved" complains.
When I called the AG I only had to bring up the name and they knew of hand their address and phone number and said they had several law suits pending!
This week I got a call from their telemarketer (my problems with them was 4 years ago) and was ask if I needed any work done!
So I checked again with the BBB and of cause there were “no unresolved cases” and no complains in the last 5 years and I was at least one where the matter was not full resolved.
So, the BBB is nothing else then a rip off IMO.
Marc I agree with you 100% about the BBB. They are just a front for business.

Yep... you are both 100% right! 15 years ago, I would have said no way.... I really believed that they were doing great things. Today.... show me the dollars and yes the BBB will help your business.

Was your truck part of the Southeastern Distributors?

Rust

I have a 2000 Tundra SR5 with 130,000 miles on it. Recently,I discovered the entire frame is rusted through, making the truck NOT-Inspectable. This vehicle is well kept and spends off hours in my garage. I am currently in beginning talks with Toyota.

QUOTE=MarcDW;86158]

I washed and waxed last fall my 07 Tundra.
Now while the temps are above freezing, I just gave my 07 Tundra a detail wash where I go in all corners, wipe out the doors and so on.
During the winter, I wash as much as possible, but with temps in the teens or below, it is just not possible to wash.

Beside the bumper, with is well documented in the threat here: Rust!! I now found more ugly rust!!
First I found these small spots a week ago, which however washed off and did not show up again:

However, you can see in this picture, how even the Tundra sign rust!
I tried to polish that with an old cotton off and it did not work. So I guess that will attack the door paint if not replaced!

Now today a looked everywhere and found this on the driver side backdoor:

A quick check on the other side and there it is a little better!

Now that is lousy for a truck with is just 14 month old!
I guess the truck will spend some time now in a boddy shop!

There was a buy back with the Tacoma's, where Totoya paid the owner up to 30% over blue book.
A truck useless after 8 years / 130k is bitter.
I am sure my truck will reach this however much earlier!
