You just gotta love this site. Everything I have thought about resourcing or researching is here. Looks like my truck will be going into the dealer with 500 miles on it which I'm not so happy about but at least I know that the radio issue is a known issue and it will be resolved painlessly (dealer depending).
Man do I wish I had opted for the JBL but I guess I am off to the thread that will guide me down the path to elated listening. Oh yeah, that dam receiver is a mile away from where my 05 had it in the wheel.

Yep, the stock radio (non JBL) is horrible, actually the speakers suck too. Aftermarket will give you the best sound quality.

I have replaced the stock stereo so far, it sounds a lot better, but I still have to replace my speakers and I should be set with a decent sound system.

Good Morning Andres, any chance we can get a picture of your new stereo and how it fits and all that. I will need to do something soon and I don't even know if I want the dealer to put in another crappy receiver. Does your Pioneer have the ability to place control on the steering as well.

This is my CD receiver, it comes with a mic for the bluetooth as well. I have no clue if you can make any stereo work with the JBL controls though.

Now that is a great looking stereo. I don't have the jbl factory wheel controls but wish I did cause my 05 did and it was a lot smaller inside as well. Now it is a whole arms reach and I am 6'3". Thanks again for the pic.

thx for the comments

I did not want to spend a lot on a fancy system when I already have a garmin gps, I saw this one at another forum and I am very happy with it, the bluetooth works perfect from any of the seats in the cab, has ipod connection, sat. radio read, etc and sounds great. Also I wanted a receiver that would actually fit well on the huge dash of the tundra. I got it in special for $250.

sometimes I don't understand why manufacturers like toyota don't spend a few more dollars on a different stock stereo. Any decent aftermarket basic receiver sounds better than the stock one.

Just FYI, I am also having problems with my "JBL" Radio...I mostly listen to MP3's (99.9999% of the time) the radio will randomly start playing track 1 of disc 1 then switch to another track and then right back to track 1, one time the stupid thing got stuck playing track 1 and track 3 and was all...it was set on random play mode and it played those two tracks Then occasionally it will turn off by itself, or when hitting the random play button it turns itself off and resets ALL the radio channel presets back to 87.9 MHz on the FM side.

Takign ti to the dealer today for them to replace the radio....

Sure whish I could find a radioo that did all that the JBL Premium radio does and work with the controls I woulsd buy it in a New York minute.....

Mine is 3 weeks old, non JBL, and it cuts off by itself and flashes the display. I'm replaincing it with a Sony so I haven't really been too worried about it.

Unless I need to worry about it?

If you already got another system there isn't a worry. Where at in Louisiana? Born and raised 10 miles east of New Orleans.
