Question Strange Vibration & Noise

About a month after I purchased my 07 5.7 Tundra,I started experiencing a slight vibration in the floor in the gas pedal. Something doesn't seem right. Shortly after I purchased it, I did experience a rumble strip feeling with a jerking when accelerating, like it was the torque converter. I took it to the dealer and they could not duplicate it. It happened the one time and it never came back. Since then, when I slow down to a stop sign or traffic light I feel it downshift more then it has ever done in the past. Even hesitates to shift like it is overshifting. I don't know if this is normal. Didn't do any of this when I bought it. Was a very smooth and powerful ride. Now it seems like it has to work harder when pressing the accelerator. Only has 4K miles.

Does anyone have a knocking sound while idling? Since the problems started, it sounds like the engine is knocking a little when idling mostly, but even when accelerating. Reminds me of a diesel engine. Doesn't always do, but most of time it does. Tried switching to a higher octane of gasoline, but didn't help. Maybe this stuff is normal. Never owned a Toyota before this.

Hope this makes sense to someone. Thanks.

The material that the gas pedal is made of has one Hell of a resonance to certain vibrations. Between about 450 miles and 800 miles on my odometer my gas pedal would follow the engine thru the range with high frequency vibration as the truck shifted. At 70 mph the gas pedal buzz would tickle my foot, and was just becoming audible. More than 70, it would fade away. I made sure never to keep it in that range for long or at any speed for vey long, while breaking in. I was close to bringing it in, but a tech on the phone said "give it a while, it's just breaking in."

After 800 miles it started to fade out, after 1100 miles it's gone. At first I had thought that it was strange for my gas pedal to exhibit vibration, as there is no solid throttle link to transmit vibration from the motor/drive train and there was no vibration in the floorboard.
But, if someone that has some throat to their exhaust passes me in traffic, once more, I can feel it in that gas pedal, a very strong resonance. It was hard to get used to.

My point is, keep at them about it. You have vibration from somewhere in your drive train and that gas pedal is picking it up.

Thanks for responding. You nailed it. I was going to mention it does tickle the foot while pressing on the accelerator. I am taking it back in for them to look at. The transmission clunked again too. After you get to the speed you are trying to reach you feel it shift to a lower RPM, then is when it clunks. Not sure how to explain it. The dealer does go out of their way to try to solve any issues. The one I purchased from has a good reputation for that. I just have to find the time to take it in.

I bought a new '08 Tundra 5.7L about 2 months ago and I'm having the same problem. I get a vibration in the gas pedal when accelerating and even after it has shifted...it started around 100 miles on the odometer and it keeps getting worse. I noticed one person said his went away after a little over 1,000 miles...has yours gone away or is it still there? Mine seems to steadily be getting worse.

From my experience with my '07 DC, this truck is very vibration prone. I too have the vibe in the gas pedal and also the steering. I have a drone between 1100 and 1500 rpm which also vibrates everything. Sounds seems to trigger vibrations in the floor, pedals and steering. My vibration disappears when I let the truck coast, and only occurs when applying gas pedal.

I had it into the dealer last week and they told me its a characteristic of the truck. I may ask to drive another one to compare for myself.

I had a different vibration that ended up being the front diff which I had replaced. That vibe is gone now, but there's still something going on.

I'm coming up on 3k miles and mine is starting to do this really bad when i slow down. It down shifts and pulls forward. If i tailgate someone i'm screwed. I have to press the brake harder and harder every time it downshifts.

Has anyone else had this problem? It pulls pretty hard. I'm worried on day the brakes won't hold and i'll run over the car in front of me

BTW...still a bad a$$ truck! Love it!
