Taking key out

Hey guys,
I have an '07 auto. Crew Max with 11,000 miles on it. I have noticed in the last month that a lot of times when I park and turn off the engine my key is not turning far enough to be able to take it out of the ignition. I have to jiggle the gear shift a few times and eventually it turns on to where I can take it out. Has anyone else had this problem and is there anything that I can do to fix it or do I need to take it to the dealership to get it worked on.
Thanks,
Tuck

Haven't had that issue. I would just take it in and have them check it out.

Do you have buckets and console?
Or bench and column?
I have the bench.
I have to PUT the shifter all the way up to turn the key.
It seems to be getting worse.

key problems

I have the bucket seats with the console. Like I said I have not noticed it until about a month ago and I notice that it seems to be getting worse with time as well. I reckon I will just take it in to the dealer to see what they say about it.
Thanks,
Tuck

Question fooling with the steering wheel helps it out? Meaning turning it back and forth? Sometime my key won't turn on because the steering wheel wasn't in a locked position. I think that's what it's called.

Mickey,
I have that on the other three toyotas in the fleet.
I always use the parking brake.
I must shift the column shifter firmly into park.
Then the key turns normaly.
But Ksigtuck has not told use what shifter he has.

This is interesting. I've never had the problem

This is a dumb/redundant question but when you try and take the key out do you PUSH the key IN once you get it from that last click to where it'll slide out?

Bench and no problems here, knock on wood.

I've only had my truck a month and this has been my only issue--I thought they all were hard to take out, guess I'll have to take it back to the dealer.
