Can't get the tires to break loose...aka..let out the magic smoke

I have a new 08 5.7 DC, non TRD, 2wd. I have tried my best to get the rear tires to break loose, even just a bit, but no luck. Traction control is off and tow/haul is off. Is this normal? Damn thing just grips and goes. haha. I know, what a problem. I have the Bridgstone/18" wheels.
One thing I do notice though, is that there is a bit of a shudder or vibration at times when shifting from 1st to second. I notice this during moderate acceleration. I don't try to smoke the tires a lot..lol..I normally drive...normal.

A really easy way is to do a break stand. Hold the breaks. First off like always when do something make sure there is nobody around and nothing that if you hit it will damage the truck. so with the brakes down simply give it ample throttle then slowly let off the breaks til they break. Cars/ and trucks al have bigger breaks in the front, aswell as the brake bias is always set so the fronts are given more of the 100% break strength than the fronts, say 65% front and 35% rears. When breaking most if not all the weight shits to the front so the rear breaks are not able to do as much mechanical work as the fronts are.

I wish I had your problem

Mine breaks loose every time, sometimes even in 4 wheel drive. Are you sure you have the LSD/VSC shut off? Just pushing the button doesn't do it, you have to hold it down for several seconds while stopped/motionless.

I don't have any indication that says the lsd is on. does the vehicle have to be started and in park? or just turned on?

how many miles and how broken in the motor is also has an effect on it.

odd... I can make the tires break loose on my 4.7 no problem as long as the traction control is disabled. While you are at a stop, hold the traction control button for a few seconds to disable everything... then you should have no problem making the tires spin.

Im dyeing sitting here not being able to try it for real. I cant wait till I go home this weekend. Boca Raton had too many cops and old people that would call the cops on you any where you go and any time of the day. And with me needing only 1 more ticket within in the next 2 months or so for my liscence to be pulled for 6 months I would rather wait till Im back in Tampa and I really know where I can go to do it risk free.

You have to turn off the Stability control/traction control first. Those 2 features limit and sometimes even eliminate wheel slip altogether.

Same here with my 4.7, just stop hold down the VSC button for about 5 seconds until the sensor on the left gauge says VSC OFF and she will smoke em down till i let off, left a nice 25 footer at the school the other day, fun stuff
poor guys standing there choked on the nice cloud i left em with

I have broken them loose with the trac on. Remember the tundra has a drive by wire system so when you floor it torque management turns up, your actually better off with half throttle when it picks up then full its not hard to do and you get used to it, Ive seen a corvette cut time off of the quarter mile by adjusting the way he launched purely because of this system.
