he said as far as lights if the check engine light comes on ...the 4Lo, Traction control , & the other light all come on at same time..

anyway, they are off now & everything seems Ok.. Glad to see it was nothing serious.. sorry to hear about your transmission!
One friday night I went up to the desert house to ride for the weekend and when it was time to go the check engine light came on in my 2000 Tundra. I took it to my buddies shop and checked it with his snap-on and it said the knock sensors were bad. The knock sensors are located under the intake maniflod on top of the block. I was able to see with a flash light that a desert rat had set up camp on top of the block (probably for warmth) just under the intake manifold. He must have been hungry cuz that little piece of shit gnawed off both sensor wires right at the sensors! I had to remove the intake manifold and Mc Guyver the sensor wires back to the sensors. If that didn't work I was gonna have to buy a whole new main wire harness. It worked. From then on I made it a point to get up to the dez while it was still light out. The truck will cool down before it gets dark and the varments have no reason to climb up on top of the motor.I'll dig up some pix.

I just got back from the dealer and they said that the engine misfired quite a bit and thats what set off the lights and caused the shuddering. They reset the cpu and all lights are off and the truck is running great. The tech said that it could have been from the truck sitting for a week in extreme weather. I'm going to keep an eye on it for sure. I'm just happy that it was nothing major.

That's odd, extreme cold??? It should happen to all the tundra's up north. Glad it wasn't major...

That happened to me yesterday, i bought a new gas cap with a lock. The dealer told me sometimes when you turn and secure the cap it's not really securing it. What i did was i turned it really slow until i felt it really secured. All the lights went back to normal, i guess this truck is very sensitive.

I stopped & fueled up the other day & after I left the station( Yes I made sure the cap was clicked) These lights all came on at once:

VSC Off Light.... is Flashing

4 Lo light.... is flashing

Check engine light.... on all time

Slip indicator light ...is on all time.

What is up? anyone have any ideas? or should I just plan a trip back to stealership..
The exact same thing happened to my truck today, The CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, The VSC OFF LIGHT IS FLASHING, The 4 LOW LIGHT IS ON, and The SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT IS ON

I am really starting to wander about this truck and I really wish it had been built in JAPAN as I don't think we would be having the same problems and quality issues.
Now I guess I will have to take it to the dealer tomorrow to find out what is going on.

DISGRUNTLED IN PENNSYLVANIA!!!!!!!

Well took my truck in this morning and had them look at it, they plugged their scanner in and the guy had me come back to my truck as he had some questions to ask me. Once back at the truck he asked if I had put it in 4LO or towed a trailer with it using a 7 pin connector. I did, He showed me a service bulletin about the issue I am experiencing. It states that individuals with the floor mounted shifter either using 4Lo or Towing a trailer using a 7 Pin connector may experience these problems. The fix is supposed to be a small wiring harness and a fuse that the dealers will install. So they ordered the parts and should have it fixed tomorrow. I will post again when completed.
