The ride has smoothed out, but now I hear a noise.

I have an 07 Double Cab 4.7 TRD off road and I can tell you all that ride has settled down dramatically since I have gotten over 5000 miles on it. I agree that the thing would bruise your kidneys on a concrete rd when it was brand new but I must say it is one of the best riding trucks I have ever sat down in since it has gotten broken in good. However, at low speeds I have started hearing a noise in the bed area of the truck when I hit a sharp bump or the suspension flexes alot on a uneven surface. I can't tell if it the the tailgate or if it is in the frame area. Has anyone else experieced this and if so what is the fix?

I have a rattling sound from my tailgate. I brought it up to my dealer and they said they could not do anything about it. They were going to call me when a regional rep was in town. (I doubt they will ever call me back.)

The sound is coming from the bottom left side of the tailgate where it meshes with the bed at the pivot point (by the shock that allows the tailgate to open without falling sharply) The sound is really pronounced if you leave all of the windows up, tailgate up, and only open the rear slider. It sounds like a tin can full of rocks...quality!

Remove the tailgate and take it for a spin. If you do not hear the sound, then you are probably experiencing the same problem as me.

If you hear of a fix, please let me know. Maybe your dealer is better than the slackers here and truly cares about customer satisfaction....

Thanks and good luck
