ride
I went back to dealer they replaced the 18 bridgestones with michelins not much help there ride was still harsh. Next we tried nitrogen in the tires. no help there. Next we tired cement in the bed- started with 80# went to 800# ride still harsh. Dealer talked to Toyota - Toyota offered that the TRD package gave a much different ride on the road. Dealer offered to take my 07 back and order a TRD to try for a few days. I excepted his offer. New TRD is in the works. If you are buying in Dallas area this is the dealership to talk too. I have bought lots of trucks over the years- not many owners put their money where the mouth is when it comes to customer satisfaction. Remember Sport City Toyota.

Drove the TRD for a day no real difference in road drive vs standard susp. I have driven a tundra for 5 years- I can't believe others aren't noticing this or talking about it. Even the people at the dealership are starting to mention that customers are passing on this truck right now because of the ride change.

One of the magazine review's criticized the Tundra for the poor ride quality saying it has a ride that would make a Humvee blush. Is this true? I hope not, as I ride around in a Humvee a lot; they ride terrible but are great offroad. The one 07 Tundra I test drove seemed ok. Is there a difference in ride quality between the TRD and non TRD and which one is smoother on road?

Both seemed good to me...the wife liked the TRD ride better. Way better than the 4Runner. If she says it's good...then it's good. Hell, I've been in some luxury cars that had a harsher ride.

WRKTX, thanks for the input. My 01 Tundra 4x4 Limited TRD with firestone airbags rides pretty rough on county roads. On the highway it rides pretty good. I was hoping the 07 would be an improvement. With my sore back I do not like riding on my lawn tractor anymore but fortunately my Honda Accord is very comfortable. I will have to test drive more 07s to see if they are any better than my 01.

I've been driving a DC TRD 5.7 for the last week, a loaner until Monday when mine arrives. I drive about 1 hour a day on the highway. I've noticed the back end is noticably bouncy, feels like it's ready to get loaded. A little annoying after awhile, but it is a truck. Everything else has been fantastic. Averaging 16 mpg over the last 600 miles.

Still waiting on my CrewMax, but the in my test drive, the TRD was much nicer. The Bilstein (sp) shocks are great and make the ride better I think. I hope this helps. The TRD package is the way to go. Better on resale too, thats a fact.
