Trans slip, and steering knocks.

Went to the drag strip last Thursday night, 1/8th mile. And right before the finish line I begin to bounce off the rev limit. this happen 2 out of my 3 runs.

If this a known issue ?

The just noticed this last night. driving on the freeway (405) @ around 50mph, I get a (what I figure the best way to explain) knocking in the steering wheel. Almost as if someone is hitting the steering column with a wrench, and it knocks side to side, this happen again later that night while on the street going 20-30 mph, it will only last for a few seconds, then gos away.

I have not yet been able to reproduce this. Any one else encounter this ?

Speed limiter kicks in around 109 or so mph. We are looking at ways to remove this...

Knocking maybe from the torque converter which has been a problem in some Tundras. It will feel like your a driving over a rumble strip for a few seconds check out the other treads on this to see if this maybe your problem

The problem was not the MPH governor but the rev limiter. Bouncing off redline, though I was in drive and not in top gear, remember this is 1/8th mile top speed was 76mph.

The knocking felt as though as if it was in the steering wheel and not felt as if it was anywhere else.

I was told it could be a problem with the rack and pinion (?)

Yeah the rev limiter does cut in at the redline - it's either up shift or go to a larger diameter tire.
