Thumbs down Think I got a LEMON!

I have owned 4 tundras with great service over the years, but about a month ago I bought a 2007 Crew Max from Adkinson Toyota with stores in Bryan and Madisonville, Texas. Immediately I found that it was running rough and when accelerating it "freewheeled" like the transmission was not engaging with much vibration. The dealer said that the #8 cylinder was not firing properly and needed a new computer which took over a week to install due to lack of available parts. They said everything was fixed, it was NOT! Again it was taken down and this time they said that it needed a new rocker arm and they wanted to replace the entire engine to have Toyota look at it. This engine only has about 1600 miles on it. I asked if they trade out vehicles since it appeared to be defective and has been at the dealership more than on the road. They referred me to arbitration but also said that the regional factory rep. could possibly help. Gulf States Toyota said NO WAY! They want abitration to take over. Let this be a warning to anyone who is thinking about buying a Toyota since they want to sell vehicles but do not want to keep their customers.

This the first of seven previous Toyotas that I have ever had any trouble. The dealer did in fact make the problem good by replacing the engine and trying to go out of their way to make everything right. I really believe in Toyotas. The first engine had a bad mistake that they are looking into, but I still stand behind the Toyota brand.

Angry

Really I think your dealer provided excellent response by replacing your entire engine, why would you want your random experience to be " a warning to anyone who is thinking about buying a Toyota since they want to sell vehicles but do not want to keep their customers." On the contrary, and you have owned 4 Toyota trucks previously?
