Post Thump or Rubberband Snapping sound

Well like many of you I just purchased an 07 Tundra Single Cab and I started to notice something similiar to another fellows topic. In the morning and even when i leave work I'll roll for a min or so and than give it gas and as i start to drive i here a noise coming from the front end. My neighbor and I came to the agreement that it sounds kinda like the heat shield forming or bending when it gets hot. My neighbor also thinks it maybe the trnasmission. I brought it in to Toyota and they tell me they tightened a belt and they said The noise id from the breaks. I said you are full of shit. So I am hoping someone can give me some pointer on what this might be and if you have had this with your truck. Rememeber the noise is either like a thump but me personally i think it's like a rubber band snapping. Please help

I have the same sound in my 5.7. I believe its normal. It typically does it from a cold start. To my understanding this is part of the traction contol system/motor running a self test. I would look through your owners manual under the traction control system for more information.

I think, I also hear that same noise, its almost like a release and lock type noise, kind of like a rubber band. I usually get it when I rush to work in the morning, and don't have time to warm the engine before, usually when the engine is warm it wont do it, but that's just on my end, I have the 5.7, double cab, long bed RWD.
