Did my first fillup on my Tundra this afternoon. The fuel needle was near EMPTY and the computer was displaying that I could go approximately 23 miles.
I was pumping gas and the gas pumped stopped at 18.2 gallons. I thought that was weird because this truck is suppose to have a 26 gallon tank. I kept trying to top it off and the pump said it has dispensed 18.86 gallons when I couldn't put anymore in.
I got back into the truck and started it and the needle shot up to full.
Has anyone come across anything similar to this ? Is it possible I could have a float issue in my gas tank ?
that happens to me all the time, it's almost empty but when I fill up it's only like 18 or like 20 gallons..
I'm assuming that there is a reserve of 6 gallons.. so dumbasses dont let it run all the way to E and be stuck....

Ya...same thing happened to me on my first fill up last week. I was at half a tank and it only took 10 gallons. I was thrown for a loop.....looked at my owners manual....got under truck to look at gas tank size...and then I searched the forum here and found out the real deal.
I myself dont like this...6 gallons is just under a freaking quarter tank...which means when that light goes off and you are reading empty you still have a quarter tank ! I would have much preferred a true reading....
