I replaced the gasket with the other one mentioned above without the screen but still have a whistle.. it is quieter though..I will try the readjusting of the air box and try that once..thanks

Any updates on this? I just clipped mine out on my lunch break. I hope there is no negatives ha ha. Too late now! I'll order a new one just in case.

Mine still whistles however not as bad as before might be 40% reduction

Anyone have experience with check engine lights coming on after the AFE intake install? Mines just come on after putting on about 2500km on it of both highway and city driving... I just unplugged it to reflash yesterday and after about 15-20km of driving it came back on. Any ideas? I checked the filter to see if it was over oiled but it's fine.

I have a question. When you cut out / remove the charcoal filter, do you need to add a gasket to make up for the thickness so lid holds down air filter snugly? Or does that charcoal filter not contact the air filter?

Charcoal filter does not contact air filter. Take a look at it & it will make complete sense.

I have a 2012 Crew. I wear the whistle at 80mph, on a windy day... Can't be the same issue... right?

That shouldn't have anything to do with your intake.
I know this is a old post but I'm interested to find out what was your problem after all?

I just bought a K&N drop in filter for my stock air box. This is the exact whistle Im hearing when on the throttle.

Did you get the gasket at the stealership? I may have to pick one up while they're doing the ECM Flash...I dont mind it around town, but if I have to hear it on a 9 hr journey I may rip the entire intake out haha.

I installed a AFE intake and have the whistle. I'm gonna order the part and install the gasket.
