I'm having issues with all these so call experts magazines with their so call testers. You know you look at 3 different mags about the Tundra braking distance and all three have different numbers. Whose right? Hell this mag couldn't take off the VSC right so they had problems with it while stopping so it wasn't good. It looks to me you need personnel who know how to operate a vehicle to test it.

I agree with you Mickey about the braking distances ! Some reviews praise the stopping capabilities , others say average . As Seinfeld used to say : " What's The Deal With Those Brakes " !

Yeah I think you're right. Everything else I've seen and heard says Tundra has the best braking distance unloaded, loaded and towing.

One thing I will say is the Tundra seems to employ anti-lock a bit too early for my taste, which may account for their test results. Anti-lock can make for some unpredictable numbers on dry road conditions if it engages too early.

I have to disagree. I like how the Tundra breaks. I hated how my GMC stopped. When I had to stop, it felt like I was going to push my foot through the floor just to get it to stop.

My last truck yes that c word had the abs problem and as usual the dealer doesn't listen to you and you don't know what you're talking about. Yes I hav vibration in the back of the truck everytime I put on the brake oh yeah let's see we can just clean the brakes and charge $100 for it. Yes he will be back and you're right next week and we will just turn the rotors and charge $200 and vibration still there I guess the customer was right about the ABS system. Well now they want more money to fix it. RIDICULOUS. Trade it in was the best thing I could do. Now no brake problem.

Tundra Has Problems

Prosetailed Technical Analysis
Cons:Lacks Information
Best Uses:Casual Reading
Bottom Line:No, I would not recommend this to a friend
The Toyota Tundra is not recommended by Consumer Reports because of it's worse than average maintenance record for a new model while the Ford F-150 has an average for the 4WD and above average for the 2WD which has not been mentioned here. The six speed transmission is not smooth shifting at all and the styling is a bit disconnected as if the body panels were thrown together in different shapes.
