i'm so choked that this happened!! my truck's only like seven weeks old... now it's right f**ked.... and yeah, his insurance will cover it but she's damaged goods now gents.... just won't be pristine from the factory....

in a couple of the pics, you can see where the box actually smacked the cab and left scuffs and chipped the paint... buddy boy hit me hard... the side view says it all!!
I feel your pain bro, I was rear ended on Friday siting at a red light and the guy was drunk and obviously not paying attn and hit me. It was not as bad as yours, but still a bummer no doubt ! I was able to roll forward a little and he still hit me, but no major body damage. t-gate, bumper and hitch took the pain. Being lifted and having hitch may have helped with damage control keeping him back some with solid steel waiting for him. I did sock him up too which helps me feel better and as someone put above I am OK and that is most important !

These days it is risky to fight as most will not just do it by hand, they will either try to stab or shoot you ! If more people would just sock each other up more often we would have less problems with guns and other weapons. as I noted I try to reframe from it, but there does come a time and this was it !

Keep the language down guys. Moderators can get into trouble and cause us trouble. Used the stars and other things. We can tell what you're saying. I did post a writing with your pic. I do feel your pain. I lost the one truck that gave me just 2 problems to fix. 800 miles fix the fan and at 95,000 miles replace A/C unit in my 98 Silverado. The accident happened when I was at 98,000 miles. Total loss. A toyota tacoma hit a chevy work van in the rear at 55mph and pushed him into my truck and pushed me into a transit bus with that big steel bumper. My truck crumpled and slid underneath the bus. I didn't put a scratch on it. I only had my Gibson catback on for 6 months also. Good thing seat broke and I was laying down when the airbag let go. Nothing like a cloud of dust and a big ballon inflating above you. Does wonders for your senses. The van ruptured the gas tank and his radiator ruptured also when my steel ball on thitched went right through. I really ripped when we had to pull apart. The accident wasn't bad to me or it didn't sink in yet but when the kid from the tow truck told his dad he wanted my truck and his dad tells him that truck is totaled and you will get it within the week. I went livid. He was right but I still got justice when the dad wnet to court for towing vehicles without a license. Mines was one of them. SOme justice. The airbags cost $6,000 to replace both and you can't use junk yard ones and I know that kid did that. I lost $1400 on that. Good ole Florida only requires $10,000 coverage so it went to the work van owners. I did get back my deductable and rental and plenty of headaches. Yes I tried all the lawyers on TV and everyone of them said I wasn't hurt enough to go to court. I had a mild whiplash. So I tried small claims court and it wasn't worth the time. The guy had nothing in his name. Now as far as the violence I had to stop my wife from hitting the guy. She definitely wanted a piece of him. The truck was under her name. She had my Thunderbird. My wife stated I looked like I lost a friend. She knew I babied that truck every week I was cleaning and polishing it. So now you understand with this Tundra with 1 issue why I like this truck. It stays on the road.

just got the repair quote.... unfortunately no write off, but the grand total is $10669!!

did u guys know that the trailer hitch assembly alone is $2000?! and a mud flap is over a hundred bucks?! sweet jesus!!

the thing's outta comission for at least three weeks, probably longer cuz parts take forever to come up north...

but they stuck me in a brand new silverado and lemme tell you that it PALES in comparison to the tundra!!! it just doesn't have the polish that the toyota has; the interior is made of cheap materials, the design of the dash is early ninties and it just doesn't have the space that my crewmax has (but then again, short of a f350 lariat, what does?) i like the exterior look but again, its not a tundra.... don't get me started on the piddly v8 it has either...

well thats my rant... wish me luck being a chev guy for the next month or so!!

Wow now how's that for perspective! Tundra-Sliverado-Tundra, nice! Let us really know when you're back in the Tundra. I'm tellin ya man once you're back in your truck the feeling of excitment will dilute that feeling of "damaged goods". Now at least you know now that Tundra can take a pretty good hit.

I must say I was impressed with the out come from my rear end ordeal too. The front of the van was smashed up big time and my damage was limited to tail gate bumper and hitch, which I believe held him back some.

full tank of gas............... $90.00
thin paint........................sucks
rattles in dash..................annoying

surviving a solid hit from behind and going home to wife and kid...........PRICELESS !!

Mr. Aguilar the main thing is everyone is okay. I know when I say this and I'm guilty too the truck is material and can be fix or replaced. Family can't be replaced. I do feel sorry you are forced to drive the Consumer Reports truck. It could be worse and F-150, Ram, or Chrysler Titan.

glad you okay but I hate it for the truck. Hope the insurance company steps up and does you right.
