Personal preferance. The 18" will a slightly smoother ride because of the taller sidewalls. Also are better for driving off-road . The 20" I believe are basically for show , and the tires will cost more to replace. And the Tundra only comes with a 18" spare, no matter what you go with 18" or 20".

Just pimp it out with 20's bro! Just kidding, I have 20's but I might just step back to 18's. I took the 20's cuz I got a deal on em but now I think I'de rather have the extra cushin for a smoother ride on and off road. Something to think about bro.

As everyone stated above--> the 18s will provide a much better ride due to the taller sidewall of the tire, but the 20s give you a more show car look. It is up to you to decide what you are looking for.

The 18s must be incredible; my truck (with the 20s) rides great and is more like a car than a truck. When I bought my truck I was looking for the 18s but it was impossible to find a Tundra in Limited trim with the 18s around here.

2008 crewmax - you beat me to the offer. I wish that I had gotten the 20" carved wheels that toyota offers.

I like my 18's, but I am finding that the selection of custom wheels are limited. They seem to have more of a selection in the 20's.

Hmmmm....

Ya' know, in my personal experience, going from 70 series to 40 series on my car (a bigger jump than we are talking about with our trucks) I didn't see that aweful much difference in the roughness of the ride. Honestly, I think that messing with the suspension of your vehicle might have a more drastic effect than the tires and wheels.

I know my old Tacoma, which has stock 70 series tires, but which also has worn out suspension, will bounce you, and slam you all the way down the road. My car with little, thin 205/40/17's, but with brand new suspension, feels great by comparison.

As far as the price, yes, the 20's will cost more, but hopefully that will be a one time thing. The tires for 20's, on the other hand, don't seem to be much, if any more expensive. Instead, they are ALL stinking expensive ! Especially if you want a good tire, with fairly long life.

All this said, I'm definately going for 20's.

Peace,
Fish

Fish, messin with the suspension will obviously change the vehicle ride much more than increasing the wheel size. The difference in ride quality between wheel and suspension isn't what people think. You tighten your suspension and you get a stiff bumpy suspension ride. You increase your wheel size without increasing your tire size and you start to feel every little crack and rock on the road. Those little reflectors that devide the road feel like they're 3 times their normal size and speed bumps, oh boy, they feel like your whackin a parking block. This is the type of suspension that tires provide, you can call it the detailed suspension. On the other hand if you increase the wheel size without increasing the tire size the vehicle will handle curves and cornering like an Indy car and because of this lots of people will make the ride quality for handling trade without thinking twice about it. You mentioned that there wasn't much difference when you made the change with your other vehicle, well I'm not sure what your other vehicle is but I am sure it can't be as heavy as your Tundra cuz weight has everything to do with this. Anyway bro, just some food for thought.

There will be many more after market wheels of all sizes soon. After all the differant lift companies come out with them for these trucks price will drop and many more people looking for them will force wheel manufactures to make more of them.
