Bak Flip on a 08 Crewmax

Took one picture with my camera phone, in case anyone wants to see what it looks like. I still need to get the tailgate seal because my local shop didn't offer it for sale and I forgot all about it. If anyone wants more pictures of it just let me know and I will pull the camera out instead of the phone. I know I went back and forth between this and the hard cover and I am glad I got this one.

I've had the BakFlip on my 07 Crewmax since July and I have had no problems! I am very happy with the cover especially for the price. I have had no problems with below freezing temps this winter - no cracking or problems using. I'm surprised more Tundra owners haven't gone the BakFlip route.

Update: Make sure you get the tailgate seal as I had a small amount of water in the bed when I looked this morning.

Can you drive with just 1 or 2 panels open.

I would assume you could drive with the back 1 or 2 panels open. I haven't done it so I am not positive. The weight of the panels shouldn't flip unless you were really moving fast.

I have been adding other items to the truck so that is the reason for no pics. I don't believe I have any other items to do this weekend on it so I should be able to get some pictures taken and hopefully posted. Sorry for the delays guys and gals

The Crewmax consists of 3 panels. Yes you can drive with just one or two panels only. The weight is sufficient to hold the panels down, however, they do provide a loop where you can use a bungee cord to fully secure. It's real easy to do. I have done it several times. You can also drive with all three panels open. However, when all three panels are open, the unit is standing up against your rear window. There are two support braces that secure the unit against your back window. I have driven this way too with no problems. The only thing that sucks with all three panels open is you can't see out your back window. However, the unit also protects your rear window from shifting loads or items that potentially break your rear window - i.e. ATV bumpers, etc.

Did you get the tailgate seal on? I got 3 12" rubber hoses with adhesive down the side. Is that what I'm supposed to use? Doesn't make sense to me how that works. My tailgate is obviously more than 3 ft wide.
