My 2nd garage project aside from Cam, Valveterrain upgrade, and Turbo'ing my Silverado. 12psi on meth injection. So decided to make my Tundra defend it's self.
2011 Toyota Tundra Limited Lucchese FlexFuel 4X4
Got this whole week off for school so I figured I'll go ahead and start installing the blower on the Tundra
This thread is pic heavy! I'm 30% there, just worked on it for ~3 hours today... Didn't get to continue because I couldn't take the damn pulley off the S/C to replace it for one .1" smaller
Pictures will go in order.
Day 2
Well delayed a whole nother day again due to the pulley... But got everything else out of the way so now all that is left is to drop in the supercharger.
Installed iridum tip plugs, Fuel Pump, New water jackets, Water bypasses, modified all cooling lines, intercooler, intercooler pump, idler pulley, and harness.
I couldn't take out the pulley no matter what, even froze it by flipping a compressed air can up-side down.
Day 3
Well got the pulley out yesterday and was able to finish up. Finished installing the Fuel rails, Blower, Breather hoses, Clutch fan, shroud, Bumper, Unichip, Intake, and other Misc. things.
It starts and runs like normal. Haven't gave it WOT since I don't have a wide-band hooked up to it yet. And didn't use an engine hoist when installing it
Or should I swap intercoolers? Lmao
Back like original. Things still needed to be installed: Dough Thorley LT headers, Cut off cats, Caltracs, Valve body, Bam exhaust. That'll be all on within the next week. That's it for performance.
For cosmetics I'm color-keying all the chrome, 4/6 drop, and de-badging some emblems. Trying to get that done by the end of this month too.
*Headers Update*
Well went to about 15 shops, both mechanics and exhaust shops. No one wanted to install the headers as they seemed nearly impossible to install due to the 4x4 and limited clearance. Also that "Lift engine 2" by removing engine mounts" part and removing the driveshaft.
Nothing to do Sunday so screw it I did it my self.... Let's just say this wasn't easy, alot of cut fingers and bruised knuckles. I don't see why they put the nuts in a location where they cant be accessed with any socket and Toyota for not leaving no clearence. But I got it done after 6-7 hours.
Today I went to get the pipes done, all 4 cats deleted. Oh and there's also a 2" pipe right off the headers.
*Valve body shift kit and AEM update*
*Update*
-Installed Transmission Valve Body
-And today the Custom jumper harness finally came in! It's still a piggyback but this one can't get re-learned by the Factory ECU, I couldn't go full standalone at the moment since it's over $3k.
Pic heavy post!
-Valve Body

Let us know how you like the unichip. My cousin has it and doesn't like how it shifts. He thinks the unichip causes this...
Couldn't resist. Gave it a WOT run and 2nd gear red-lined so I let off. Haven't tried it again. Could the UniChip be causing this? Only reason I went with it is because mines a FlexFuel model.

Honestly I can't tell you if there's a difference or not as I can't use my S/C without it so I don't know if there's suppose to be a difference. I'm so used to my Silverado's pulls (~600rwhp +/-) but did feel a big increase in power after the S/C and ASP pulley.
I'm hoping for it to feel better after Headers(Wont be installed ti'l Friday cause tomorrow is a holiday) and Valve body(Get's here Monday)

wow. the detailed pictures. Makes me feel like I can install one on my own........ prob not. I do know how much of a pain it is to stop what you are doing and take pics of the progress. I, for one, thank you for that. Excellent job.

I'm pretty sure you can DIY. I just turned 17 a couple weeks ago and have no experience working on an import motor and did it. I've always been on the LS scene and do all my work from oil-pan to intake on those motors. I installed the S/C with a $100 set of tools from Sears. (I have like 100 more pictures btw, I just didn't want to flood this thread with pictures lol)

Only 17? You have some serious talent! Do you also own these two trucks (at only 17??)
Btw, I had a Unichip.. custom tuned on map B... On WOT it shifted like Chit.. it stumbled on redline, made my track times the worst. I ended up removing it and then the truck shifted great.. that was 2 yrs ago. Got the VB shift kit now.. it rocks... Who were you getting that VB mod from? (Spoolin? IPT?)

So being that the ffv requires the unichip we would be stuck with the shitty shifts?
