I want to paint my toyota grill emblem....advice?

I want to paint my toyota grill emblem black. I see that it just pops out but I am worried about those cheap plastic tabs breaking. So should I just try popping it out? And what needs to be done to paint it? I would assume I have to sand it down and paint it with plastic specific spray paint?

thanks for the help

That's right 2008. Its as easy as that! Just make sure you spray very light, even coats.
