There is plenty of room to go from the fog light to the fender wall where the CAI hole is. I would do a 5" if I were you. Mostly because the fog light is 5" diameter. You really should use long radius elbows for the connections if you use PVC.

You know what, I recall seeing a flexible electrical conduit that would work really well. I think it's only special order, but it comes in various diameters and I bet you can get it in a 4", maybe even a 6 inch. Only down side is that it's florescent orange so you might want to paint the inside of it near the intake. I'll see if I can find it again. It's been a few years.

thanks

that would be sweet. thanks. I know theres room for a big hole like that that would be able to go straight into the stock box for sure, but to do the mod to the afe wouldnt u have to come over or around somewhere to the front of the afe? I think i'm just gonna mod the stock air box with the hole like *** did. U think it would be about the same with a drop in as opposed to the cone mod? Only one concern, u guys think toyota would try and mess with us for moving the ground wires, if something electrical went wrong with the truck by coincidence? Anybody with any experience with the afe dry drop in. trying to stay away from the oil.

You could come up from the passengerside of the front light hole and trim the part on the box that goes up to the fender , put on a 90 elbow and you have it !
That link I posted for suction hoses , they have it in 6" too . I think it would work perfect as I've used those for over 20 yrs and they hold up very well .

Ya gotta be careful with using hoses in an intake as they may collaps. You need to use something ridgid like PVC, and at least 3" to make it worth the effort. 3 or 4" PVC 90's and 45's take up too much room and would be next to impossible to use. Although using the fog light cavity has been talked about there still isn't any room to rout anything big enough up to the air box. My added 3" fender intake works awesome! If anyone comes up with a ram air post it for sure!

The hoses I referred to will not collapse the are metal reinforced , I've used them to pump grout , portland cement and to fill up water trucks with a 6" pump.
I'll look at my truck this weekend and see if it's at all possible to run this set-up to the intake box .
I'll post some pics as well , and hopefully provide some info that will be useable.

The auto parts stores used to sell what looked like a black collapsible dryer hose, in 3"-5 or 6" diameter. It was reinforced by a plastic coil inside.

We used to use them on our cars to make 'ram' air setups (not true ram air because we didn't seal them, but they brought cool air to our filters).

I posted on the other thread about the sealing mod on the AFE. Can't there be a better way than cutting holes in the fender or cutting out the fog light compartment? I was thinking a flap or some sort that goes over the hole that opens at higher speeds/rpm's. The intake HAS to be drawing sufficient air at lower rpm's through the original hole, right? I think where it comes into play is the upper RPM's and by then you SHOULD have cold air coming in from natural forces though the grille. Just my thoughts, i don't want to mess up the body any more than i have to. I am anxiously awaiting a repost on here though about this tube deal. I hope you guys get it to work!!!
