New Afe Modification , pics ! Please Look !

Okay , so for those of us that have done the install they give you a piece of trim to fill the gap in the fender.

But I was thinking that maybe there is a better way to get a good seal there,so I just went out about 30 mins ago and did this little mod that I hope you will try .

First grab your old intake box , the lower part that holds the filter .

Now take a flat screw driver and pryoff that piece that went thru the fenderwell opening .

Okay , so far so good .

Now where there is a shoulder on that piece , the one right below the slot . trim it off .

You should now have apiece that looks like this one .

Sorry about this one . too bright out . lol !

Take that part , and your new aFe box and slide it into the opening like this .

Now re-install your C.A.I .

Now that's a nice fit !!!

Now take this part here

toss it in the trash , and enjoy your new and improved free mod .

haha, good job. Can't do that since I sold my stock intake for 100 bucks. When I installed my AFE, I actually tried putting that part on the afe box but ofcouse it doesn't fit without cutting it.

I've been meaing to check mine. I applied that trim piece backwards. I put it on the end of the AFE housing instead of round the hole in the truck. I'm sure it's fine.

I think it will force more air thru the intake , I noticed alot more air noise at full throttle .

Let me know how it goes for you Mickey !
