You guys have some awesome ideas. When I buy ny aFe, I will proceed with this mod at the initial installation.

BTW, I am going Dry Pro S for convenience and to be sure the MAPP never freaks. Any comments as to the filtering ability, flow ability, etc compared to the oiled version?

Take care.

I went with the Dry Pro for the very reasons you stated , I don't think that there is going to be much of a difference , other than the fact that the dry filter may have to be cleanned more often .

I am definitely going to do that. Great thinkin'. Also, I wanted to let you guys know to check your aFe housing cover periodically to make sure the screws are tight. They seem to loosen up a bit after a while. Not to the point of falling out, but enough to have the cover giggle a lil'.

If they've installed the AFE and haven't done this mod they're crazy. It's one of the cleanest sweetest mods I've ever seen Bill! It's a freeking no brainer for the AFE!

I cant deside yet, im installing my aFe today at 4. Im a fan of keeping my old parts, intact at that!

Also installng my Corsa today.. I may just chuck my stock exhaust. But keeping the stock air box for sure.

I understand wanting to keep your old parts . But when you see how the A.F.E fits onto the opening rather than thru it , you'll understand why I did this .
Thanks for your reply .
