Many people notice a decrease in fuel efficiency with these mods simply because they like the new, more aggressive sounds and tend to be heavier on the throttle as a result.
Are these actual, measured losses or are they the computer reported figures on your info screen? Was the battery disconnected when the CAI was installed? It takes the computer a while to "adapt" to new intake mods and begin reporting accurate info. Last edited by TexBiker : 05-19-2008 at 10:42 PM. |

Hasn't happened to me, I actually gained .5-1 MPG when I put on the CAI. I would freak out if I was losing that much!

i have one and i cant say i gained anything for gas but i heard the mass air flow sensor is at fault. all the air overloads it and the power changes from day to day. you will notice that one day it has bottom end and the next day it doesnt. i also have a cat back system

The maf's are very sensitive on these vehicles, the same design as the fords. It will cause it to lean out our run pig rich, the only thing i can suggest is to find a way to move the maf closer to the tb, but thats nearly impossible without some major modding on your 300+ dollar intake.
