Super Charger * Stock Transmission ?

I Was wondering how the Stock Tundra Transmission will hold -up and perform with the 504-HP Supercharged set-up.
Has anyone herd of any info With TRD Techs or others in this arena that may have any info.

If Toyota is going to market with the TRD supercharger set-up, the trans will take the extra torque. They wouldn't be able to give you a warranty if it didn't.

I ran an aftermarket Kenne Bell supercharger on my Dodge Ram for 6 years. It was my daily driver and I never had one problem with the trans. Drank gas like a dehydrated pig but no problem with the motor or trans.

superchargers are nicer to trannys than turbos IMHO. superchargers come on gradually -- the turbo on my bug is like a kick in the nuts....... broke the axle and grenaded the R&P first time on the track with slicks......... can run mid 13s with stock 4" bug tires :-)

That all depends on the supercharger. A good roots system will deliver maximum boost at VERY low rpm's. I have had a lot of experience with lightnings and they are torque monsters down low and are at full boost very very early in the powerband....quicker than most turbo's that I have dealt with. Now the ProCharger I have on my s-10.....more rpms = more boost. Are you running a 2 stage on your bug to bring boost up on the line?

Didn't the 504 crank horsepower come @ 4 PSI? We all know - if you are familiar with Lightnings or SC Cobras - more can be had by tinkering the supercharger (bored, different pullies, etc).

My guess is at the manufacturer recommended boost level, it'll be fine. But squeezing more PSI out of it will probably yield to tranny problems.

On a personal level, I'd at least put in an aftermarket torque converter if I was going with forced induction. To my knowledge, there aren't any out yet for this new 6 speed.

This transmission is also used in the VW Touareg and Porsche Cayenne. The V10 Touareg diesel kicks out 310hp and 553tq, the Cayenne Turbo S is over 500 hp and 530tq. Given the same internals, it should hold the TRD SC power quite well.

Never heard that before. And they are not manufacturing partners so i am skeptical on this...

There's nothing wrong with being skeptical, that tends to be my style too. However VW and Porsche use the automatic 6 speed Aisin TR-60SN. The Aisin web page mentions it is good for up to 750nm tq (551 ft/lbs). Aisin also produces the TB-68LS, which is more probable to be installed in the Tundra, it looks bigger and is mentioned for truck use.
