I want to give my '07 4.7L DC more power.....any advice?

I would like to get my 4.7L DC more power without dropping a ton of $ (you know like thousands and thousands). I put in the K&N air filter and want to put a good dual exhaust on it....but I know very little about mods like this. I would like to get about 300 hp out of the engine just to give it a little more kick. I would appreciate if some of you guys could give me tips and ideas of what can be done. Please share your mods and upgrades and like always.....pics are the shizzle.

just get an exhaust, theyre going to have about the same power .. go to a local muffler shop and have them make you a magnaflow or flowmaster for a few hundred dollars.

and as for the intake, get either the K&N or the volant.

could probably boost yourself about 30hp for $600 or so

That sounds like it should do the trick...30 hp puts it at about 300hp and the price is spot on. Thanks Max.

The trd supercharger was for gen1 tundras it probably would not bolt up. Even if it would the tuning would definitely not work with the new computer. It's also going to cost more than a few hundred dollars. I don't see an intake and exhaust adding 30hp to a 4.7. The muffler shop exhaust does not really add any power it's not tuned there is no engineering and they use crimped pipe. If you want exhaust make power and not just noise on an n/a vehicle it needs to be mandrel bent. I've seen magnaflow for as $415.00 shipped which isn't a whole lot more than what the muffler shop would charge and actually make some power and not just make your truck noisier.

some local muffler shops carry pre-mandrel bent sections of stainless pipe they can install. My exhaust shop installed a pre-bent section of 3" pipe with a flowmaster muffler for under $250. I did a single out pipe, but did notice a gain in power and mileage.

Tuned or not exhaust isnt a good place to search for power with a vehicle, I agree with fridge we have a local shop here in texas that has an assortment of pre-mandrel bent pipes.

Well I was just referring to the crush bent piping all the muffler shops in here in NC use. Thats cool you guys have the mandrel bent pipes available I wish I was so lucky. I want to see a dual exhaust with a true x pipe now that would probably do wonders (like 10hp) If I had the mandrel bent pipe sections available I would probably cook something up.

I have to whole heartedly disagree with this statement. On my prior vehicle we gained 60, yes 60 RWHP, dyno-tested and tuned, through changing out exhaust and only exhaust components. This was a 2004 GTO. It was pretty corked up after we did the supercharger on the intake side. Granted I'm not just talking a cat-back here, but if you know what you're doing (or you have the director of engineering development for Magnaflow working with you) you can DEFINITELY gain through exhaust changes.

I completely agree I think there is a lot of hp to be made through a complete exhaust system. It does need to be tuned and dyno tested to see what makes the most power on our trucks.
