A few companies are working on it, but nothing yet. The Toyota ECU isn't "performance chip" friendly.

Some guy on TS was supposedly close to having something ready but I really doubt the guy since he refused to post any pics/info and just seemed like an uneducated fellow all together. Geez I hope I'm wrong about him cause I really want a programmer. I've heard rumors and superchips, edge, bullydong, and unichip working on something. Unichip is the only one that ever release anything for the older Tundras so they may be the best bet.

What exactly will a programmer do? Will it activate my alarm for me?

a programmer is what we refer to when speaking of a hand-held tuner like superchips, hypertech, or whatever. It will not activate dealer options, but rather tune your engine differently for whatever mods you have done.

I Would Wait until A large Company Vendor produces a Programmer, VS going with Some Hoky no-name Tuner Could be asking for problems, better to be safe than Sorry.

I Make Phone Calls About Programmers And Everyone Knows Something Different. One Minute Their Starting Next Month Then The Next Time They Dont Know Or Are Starting In A Few Months. But I Have Spoken With Banks And They Are Gonna Make A Power Bundle With Intake, exhaust, headers, and Programmer. So We Will See When Summer Gets Here

Most late model Toyota ECUs are smarter than any old handheld, and will revert to the factory setting after 111 miles. Pain in the butt to have to reflash it all the time. I tune Toyota with stand alone systems like E Manage, but I think FAST has something that will work on the Tundra. There's alot of wiring involved (injector harness), you have to know how to tune or take it to a tuner that knows, and it costs around $2500 for the cheapest standalone system.

Want to make real power? Forget tuners and intakes...go nitrous. High compression Toyotas love the spray and respond very well! Nitrous take all options and choices away from the ECU and it forces the truck to do what you want it to do.

Unichip is probably the biggest name in the industry. They practically invented the "tuner chip" phenomenon when ECU tuning became popular.

Instead of getting a chip or a programmer couldn't I just get a super afc and tune the fuel trims. I think most of the power is in leaning the 5.7 out. Not to mention the fact that it would also get better mileage. I know this is somewhat old school but it's been working on imports for years plus there is some tunability. The super afc goes between the sensors and the computer changing the readouts that the computer sees. I don't see how the computer could relearn and revert back to the original settings like with e-manage. I just poked around the titantalk site and from what I see the unichip sucks one post lost hp on the dyno compared with the stock ecu. Just get on titantalk and do a unichip search and see all the crap. We don't need a tuner we need something like uprev that can be tuned. Somebody needs to contact uprev and get the ball rolling.
