You can not lose your warranty from a cai, they all produce similar results, a closed box will be quieter than an open box. I have a cone on a coupling connected to factory intake tube, its ghetto but does the same thing as every other one just alot cheaper.

k&n or volant is my recommendation

i went with k&n cause its cheaper .. volant looks nicer and supposedly produces more hp.

k&n advertises ~ 14hp .. volant advertises ~ 21hp

check recent posts .. a guy on here got a volant for pretty cheap and had a way to use a discount coupon .. im gunna see if i can find the thread

I have the trd. It is a lot quieter than the 04 4.7 with a k&n that I test drove before buying my 08. Mine came with the CAI and the trd exhaust so I don't know if there is much improvement in hp or mpg.

I've got the Volant and love it. Great increase in throttle response and great growl sound to compliment my cat-back. No loud sucking noise as it's a closed box. About 80 bucks cheaper than the TRD.

The supercharger isnt going to use the TRD one either, it should come with a setup for the air intake, so in other words why worry about a expensive CAI if you plan on getting the supercharger when it comes out. I would go K&N because its the cheapest if you absolutely have to have one. Just my 2cents

I installed the Volant today. I am VERY pleased with it. I purchased it from Autoanything.com for $369 with free shipping. Directions were very easy to follow and looks great. There is definately better throttle response and a nice "growl" to the engine now.

I've had the k&n on for about one week now, definitely loud on WOT. Already noticed an increase in mileage but it doesn't seem to have more power, it may be just the computer learning the change or it could be that our weather has changed drastically to get much warmer so I lost power anyway because of the temp change. Looks nice and for the price you can't go wrong. Hope this helps your decision

I have an AFE CAI, closed box, but it's still pretty loud. I like how it looks in the engine compartment.
