True Flow sent me the intake yesterday , which I installed in about 30 minutes. I disconnected the battery to reset the computer.
They want me to run it for a few weeks to get my impressions, then we will dyno it with and without.

My first impression is that it adds a really nice mellow rumble in low to medium acceleration. If you stomp it it gets your attention quickly.
It seems to have more throttle response although in shift range it falls down a bit. That may be more transmission than anything. I think it amplifies the sound, of the lag you would get anyway, that you don't hear with a stock intake.
I really like the sound WOT
I will have to check mileage after I get over the need to stomp it for the cool sound and feel.
I do use my truck to pull a 4500 # enclosed trailer. My mileage currently is between 10-12 depending on the need to get to one job or another.
I may take a small trip next weekend, without the trailer, to give it a highway test for mileage.
By the way, my initial testing hasn't been hooked to the trailer.
Again I will post dyno sheets
thanks
Don

They have a sealed intake available for your truck but not the xdi go to True Flow Performance Air Filters, Cold Air Intakes, XDI Air Intakes, Premium Air Filters, Foam Air Filters and check it out. It reuses your factory box but replaces the filter and the pipe going to it.

How do you like the True Flow XDI? Tell me what you can about it. I've researched them and it's my choice just wanted to hear some feedback.

More sucking sound up front, and maybe some whistling from it. I dont think the True Flow does, but I know for sure the aFe does!

With my K&N 77 series the pipe is metal which also transmits the sound of the 381hp v8 better. From the inside it almost sounds like I put an exhaust on. It's almost completely quiet until you step on it then it's really loud. It really gives meaning to the loud peddle. Under steady throttle the K&N does have a slight whistle which may bother some.

do you know if the pipe being metal affects performance any? the 77 and true flow both have metal pipes if I read correctly...

are the true flow and k&n 77 the only ones with metal pipes for 08 Tundras? this intake site shows all the others as plastic.
