performance for 4.7

I'm guessing that 90% of the owners on here must have the 5.7. There is alot of performance products for the 5.7, but not much for the 4.7. I only have about 1800 miles on my tundra sr5 reg/sb, but I would really appreciate anyones help in find some performance mods for my truck. I am also enjoying this site very much. Thanks

Intake and exhaust is the best start. I'm sure they make both for the 4.7. Lots of info on this site bro. Check in the archives for old posts. You'll get your answers. Good luck!

I was thinking about getting the 4.7 also. What kind of mileage are you getting? Do you have 4x4? Any lack of power?

It is not as powerful as the 5.7L, but I am very happy with my 4.7 (4x2). I saved myself a lot of money, got a good deal for it. I have 1400 miles on my truck, I do mostly city driving, I am getting around 14.3 in the city, I feel it keeps improving, could get better but I usually find a lot of traffic (rush hour before/after my classes/work), I drive up on a 7 floor parking garage everyday in my campus, sometimes more than once. The way how you drive it makes a big difference. I really did not need so much power, the 4.7 works great for my needs . I have 0 complaints about my truck.
I went on a 4 hour trip last week and averaged 17.9, going like at 70-75 constantly. The toneau cover helps a lot on the highway/road.

Now if you are thinking on doing some serious towing or you can easily afford the big engine go with the 5.7

just my opinion gl

I have not noticed any lack of power either. I have a reg cab shortbed. I bought the last 07 that the dealer had & got a great deal so I didn't see any reason to spend extra for an 08 with the 5.7. Love the truck so far although it does have a stiff ride. No matter, it's a truck.

i average about 15-16mpg city and my recent 3 hour trip from Ventura down to San Diego I got about 18-19mpg. My only performance mods is a drop in AFE air filter. Might do exhaust but just the muffler for sound. Im happy with the performance and power. Even with the 4.7, I can still smoke the tires, probably just not as far as the 5.7
