TRD Intake

Has anyone purchased the TRD intake for the 5.7L V8? Im curious if it is a good choice or to go with another brand. Also, does it improve hp and mpg?

I have it and I love it. It isn't loud so if that is your thing go with something else. I have it along with the TRD exhaust and like them both. Once again I didn't want a loud set up. You can definately tell the difference. Sparks Toyota is the cheapest place to get them. My MPG did improve slightly. Good luck.

I ordered mine from Sparks last week. It was here in three days, $395 , no tax or shipping. However, like jpnca I wasn't home to sign, so I had to sign the door hanger and Fedex left it the next day. Put it on last weekend and I think it looks great. Too early to see any MPG gains, but I can feel the difference off the line.

I've got one with the TRD exhaust and also TRD headers, HP is up, way up, and I'm getting about 22-24 hiway mpg. Sound is awesome, throaty but not obnoxiously loud except when you step on it.

Where did you get the TRD headers? Were they hard to install?

Has anyone installed the TRD intake as of yet? I was reading the install instructions and it said you either have to cut the engine cover or raise it with the supplied hardware. I am not cutting anything so how does the cover look elevated? Can you really tell a difference?

Alright man, thanks. As soon as I read that you had to elevate the cover to accomodate the hose, I became skeptical. As long as it isn't a major change, Im ordering it tomorrow through sparks. I even sold a Glock to buy the intake. Oh the sacrifices!
