Then whats the advantage of aftermarket headers if our Tundra already has factory headers? Can't be much diff. & don't want to lose low end torque with bigger diameter headers.

Yeah, I'll stick with the stock factory shorties. Might not have quite the mid-range, but they're a Hell-of-ah-lot better than old cast iron exhaust manifolds, and they're headache free.

Don't think i will be dropping that kind of bread for a set of headers and a day or two's worth of headaches. I like to modify, but i need reliability from my Tundra. (work vehicle)

Reminds me of my mustang 5.0, damn that car was fast but everytime i modified something, it needed more attention or caused me to fix or upgrade something else. viscious cycle...money pit.

Nice to see JBA stepping up to the plate to fix the problem. I would give em' a chance if i decided to go all out.

I would not worry about one post on one forum. If we did that we would never buy anything as you always are going to have one bad part when you are mass producing. I purchased the JBA's for my new Tundra and they worked out very good and I love them.

I purchased a new labtop and when I fired it up the screen did not work. Does that mean I should not get another labtop and go without. "Not at all"

Aftermarket headers can improve exhaust flow by improving the header design and diameter. Basically allow the engine to exhale more freely and gain power.

Yes the Tundra has stock headers and they are a great design, JBA and Doug Thorley have made improvements (based on the dyno charts) but by the experience Hava had, i don't know if it's worth the effort

There are great gains on the Intake and Exhaust alone and those are rather simple upgrades

Its one out of a lot, dont base on not buying them because one person had a bad experience, they gave a full refund or could of replaced them,

As rmjdrift says above, aftermarket headers usually improve the flow of exhaust gases by opening up the diameter of the pipe and allowing a greater volume to flow.

They also help increase the efficiency and performance of the engine by "tuning" the exhaust. This is done by matching individual pipe lengths to the firing sequence of the engine, which times the exhaust pulses so they don't collide with each other as they're trying to escape.

This timing means one cylinder doesn't need to work harder than another during it's exhaust stroke.

For the record, I've had zero problems with the JBA headers nor do I expect to have any problems.

Like others have said, this seemed to be an exception in quality failure.

The cost and labor aside, there's not much downside in these headers.

Ive had headers long tubes to be exact, and honestly it dosent seem worth the time, aftermarket headers never seem to seal properly, long tubes are the only real way to gain power from headers and the tundra at least with the 5.7 dosent seem possible to get them in anyways, keep the factory headers and just go with a nice catback system. Just my two cents

Update: Feb 13th

As of today I have NOT received the shipping label that I was told I was going to be sent 2 weeks ago, so I can return the headers and get my promised FULL refund. Left Alex @ JBA Headers a message last friday and received NO reply from him or anyone else. I bought the set exactly 1 month ago, took about 14 hours (10 to install and about 3-4 to remove and install stock back) and all I have to show is a headache and a $525 deficit.

So here I am venting and hopping that I get my refund SOON! Here are more pictures that speak for themselves!

Agree 100%!!!

The long tubes, along with high-flow cats and cat-back in my VETTE made a HUUGE difference. But swapping shorties for shorties with a slight difference on the design, no heat shield, and IMO a very weak soldering job is asking for trouble.

Rant off!

thats sketch and crazy they just essentially ditched you like that. Well this certainly cleared up any possibility of me getting these. The ones you have look like they were rejects or something along those lines almost. I cant imagine these are what they all look like.

Well you know that they will notice you on this site maybe even within this evening.

Damn, sorry to hear that. But not surprised, when I called to complain about my JBAs being completely rusted after 10 months, Alex hung up on me. When I got my 07 FJ Cruiser, I came across a really good price on a set of Titanium Ceramic Coated JBAs through a group buy. Well they were installed last July and I noticed in January that they too are rusted.

JJ I sent you a PM i just saw your post.

Alex had the return label emailed to you yesterday. I wish you had contacted us a bit earlier than 2 weeks so that we could have gone back and made sure the shipping guys got a return labeled mailed to you. If its not in your email give me a call directly, my number is in the PM I sent you along with my extension.

XS if you are having a quality issue with the headers give us a call. We have a performance guarantee. Thats odd the titanium coating is rusting. Can you email photos to myself so I can see them? We might be able to do something to have them re-coated. I am at bharvey@jbaheaders.com

If you guys have any other issues you can PM me or contact me directly.
