I had a 14 cm tundra and hit the top speed once or twice just for fun. Today, I drove my sc 15 and decided I would see how it reacted when it hit top speed, we'll there wasn't one it hit the 120 mark on the speedo and continued to accelerate. I thought this only could be done with some sort of programmer not with the factory sc tune. Any ideas?
trd s/c tune normally gives about 118 to 121 mph unless trd forgot to do it for 2014?.
the very first tune didn't have a limiter but trd corrected this for the second update that applied to all trucks since 2007.
the third update for gen 2 trucks still had it so odds are it's still there.
it is sometimes difficult to feel it since it's so smooth in its application.
but hey,i hope i'm wrong
Thanks, maybe I didn't hit the 121 mark. I think it may have just shocked me when I saw it reach 120ish and still hadn't felt it give in. More than likely I won't do it again anytime soon, but when I do I'll post the results.
I'm pretty sure I stated on a closed course in my statement. No laws broken if I'm not on a public road.
