Guess where I was today...

Took a little drive to Corona, CA to....

For these shiny little devils.

The rig goes into the shop

Parts come off

Headers go in.

I didn't notice any additional rumble from adding the headers, it sounded just like the the Bassani Xhaust catback I already had on there.
They said I have to drive at least a 100 miles for the computer to adjust to the headers.

I can say that when I was getting on the fwy. to go home, I had to punch it to get to an opening in between all the slow pokes and the acceleration was even more awesome than these 5.7s already are.

Are they SS, ceramic coated SS? And if they are SS, what grade of stainless are they? I take it your truck is an R&D ride to test the headers? Did they mention a price? So many questions.

No, the truck isn't a R&D truck. It will be a feature vehicle for 4 WD Toyota Owners magazine.
I never asked if they which ones they were, but I believe they are ceramic because they don't shine like parts that I have had chrome plated on other vehicles that I own.
For the other questions, you would have to call them.
Here is some links.

Well, I work in the industry so, my rate would be different from the average guy. You couldn't just walk in to their building and ask them to install a set of headers or exhaust.

Did you get that 100 miles in yet? Would you say if there was one thing you did to your truck for performance then this would be "It"?
That is to say are they trully worth spending the cash, or should all my saveings go into another performace upgrade? I need power but my wife will kill me if I go blowing more cash on parts that don't make much difference to the performance.
I say speed is money, hony .

I am pretty close to 100 miles. I was out hot rodding around with it last night in an industrial area, and I can say it definitley made a difference. It feels like it accelerates harder. I don't think it added that much more to the the sound level to the Bassani catback I already had on there.
Back when I was talking to the Thorley guys at SEMA (& at their shop) about their headers, they said TRD had gotten some of their headers for testing because of how much power they were getting.

Don't mean to steal this thread, but talk to me about those "sliders" you have there. Who? Where? How much?

They really look solid. I like them much better than any step bars, or nerf bars.
