The last two Toyota trucks I have had both (still have the 4.0 Tacoma) had JBA headers on them and I was very pleased. Since I am in the market for the new 5.7L, I have been researching on these forums. Although I find a lot of this dialouge to be childish, it is entertaining. JBA will get my coin for the 5.7L as the Doug Thorley is made of a lesser material, is a tri-y, and is unproved in this arena (Tundra). I saw the Thorley dyno and it is good for nothing...zero power (and some losses!) across the power band except for a torque spike due to shifting. If Thorley can't do a dyno pull, how can they even build a tuned header?? In regards to a JBA dyno, which I really want to see a full image of, they assured me that the gaines were clean and across the entire power band and got 20hprw and 20tqrw. Something else to consider between these two different designs is that JBA does the rest of the exhaust too. Typically, exhaust parts are designed based on what other parts a company will make, hense the differences between the two different offerings. Oh, and when a company makes a "guarantee", it's because they do back up the part, and the performance, and the quality.

Reality check…. They are both good products….. Let’s face it… both dyno’s are “good for nothing”…. That’s why many of us are waiting to see the two step-up…. I could care less who says their product is better on paper…. Just because JBA “assured you” it was clean…. You actually believe this? As far as the guarantee…. You’re kidding right…. They both have one… Anyone can offer a guarantee…. And most do…. This is assumption/confidence based marketing 101… I find it fascinating when consumers get sucked in by this…. |
