Anyone hear of a turbocharger that fits a 2014 tundra? been searching for a while and found nothing . Man i wish a turbocharger comes out soon for the tundra. It would help mpg ALOT.
My Turbo Kit was made to fit on a 5.7L Tundra. If you are under warranty it would probably void it all. If you are Not FlexFuel, get the TRD S/C, it was designed and tuned for the Tundra. That said I had mine on for 2 years now and it's been all Pure FUN..
@SC Tuna ya i heard about the sc but i also heard it decreases mpg. I would love the extra power but gas prices and such make it sound like a bad idea.
Like Jim, Jbroas, your looking at a custom fabrication and install. I believe it was a bit more than the supercharger install, if I remember correctly. If your serious and have the $$$ you can contact Spoolin07, Chris Walton 502-423-9062, and talk turbo setups.
You will still have to run premium gas and have a stand alone engine management system if you want to push some good boost.
Increasing mpg's come down to how much you can stay out of it...
The Toyota SC is factory approved so you will get a warranty with it, if you have the dealership install it. It improves HP and increases the Torque curve nicely.
Like others have said the rear rotor gear oil needs to be changed at 100K. The SC needs to be pulled to do this and is not hard to yourself.
@Mrtruckman ya it will be a while but i will be posting pics of my tundra soon. Just got to install dual exhaust, fender flares and put on a new set of rims! just waiting for the packages to arrive so maybe two weeks.
Go with the SC, you won't be sorry. I added mine for the extra capabilities it adds. I have found that running premium fuel actually INCREASES your gas mileage by about 1.5 MPG. That is if you can keep the weight of your right foot from getting too heavy.
Before anyone asks what capabilities, I will tell you --
I live in Central Oregon and have to go to Portland a couple of times a month. The roads between here and there are two lane roads with short passing lanes scattered throughout. It is sooooo fun passing people. Before the SC, I wouldn't pass a bunch of people, now -- I do. I feel the extra power will get me around anyone that keeps me from using my cruise control. I usually get up to about 90-95 when passing a single car. There is usually a surprised face looking at me as I whine by them.
If you get the supercharger... Make sure you put the URD pulley on before install. I didn't and regret it every day.
It's sitting in a box. Womp womp.
The man. The myth. The legend.
