Regret getting the v6. Any performance mods that can help?
Hey everyone, a week ago I bought a 2013 Tundra with the 4.0 v6. The truck still drives good but reading the forums make me feel like I made a mistake but I got what I could afford. What would be my best course of action to keep my factory warranty and not lose fuel mileage, etc. Supercharger? Intake? I'm planning on leveling it and putting on larger rim and tires. Thanks for your help!

I don't have any idea what to tell you. All I can say is that I bought a 4.6 in 2011 and broke down and traded it in for a 5.7 in 2012. Lesson being buy what you want the first time around if you can't then wait till you can. It can save you a lot of money!!! If you can afford a supercharger then you definitely could have gotten a 4.6 or 5.7.

Wait 6mo n try to tade it for a slightly used 5.7. I bought a new 5.7 in 07 n got a good deal but when I get another I'm going to get a slightly used one. U can get your money worth on a new one n very quickly it will b worth more than u owe, but the price will drop a lot on a used. I'm curious how much u paid for the v6? If u don't mind saying. Also what kind of mileage u get

I wonder if its the same engine tranny that the 12 4runner has? I just traded in my 12 4runner because it was way too sluggish, installed a cai helped a little. A TRD supercharger is in the works for the newer 4.0 v6 dual vvti engine in the 4runner. The last time I looked into it realease date is supposed to be mid 2013. GL
I can't afford the supercharger just yet but I would look into it into the future if it would help a lot. All the v8s they had at the dealer were out of my price range so I settled for the v6 after driving it. It still drives decent. Better than my old lifted 5.4 triton f250. I paid $31k for it and I haven't really had it long enough yet to calculate my mileage. I don't want to lift much. Just the 3/1 leveling kit and 35s at the most.

2wd. Everything else they had was 35k+. But I got 8k for my trade which is 3k more than anyone else would give me.
Ouch! Sorry to hear about that deal man. I hope you like the truck, you will likely be in it for awhile. Around here you can pick up a base 5.7l 4x4 for about that price.
