JBA Long Tube Header for Tundra 5.7 Development
Hi everyone,
I received some new information and wanted to keep you updated on the development of the new JBA Long Tube Headers for the Toyota Tundra 5.7.
JBA has developed a few prototypes and are testing them on different trucks. They will be offered in raw 409 stainless steel, as well as two coated versions. We expect the MSRP to be around $700, but will put together a group buy for Tundra forum members in the initial run.
Also, for the first time JBA will be offering a 2.5” Stainless NON-catted mid pipe. Those that want catted or 3” will need to build custom.
I ran the long tube group buy for the Nissan Titan crowd when they first came out & will set something up for you all here. They are great looking, high quality headers and should unlock a good amount of power.
JBA 6012S - Raw Stainless
JBA 6012SJS - Ceramic Coated
JBA 6012SJT - Titanium Ceramic Coated
Header specs:
3/8" thick laser-cut flanges
Patented JBA Firecone® merge collector
1-3/4" Mandrel-bent CNC Stainless Steel primary tubes
3” Collector w/ V-band connections – 2.5” or 3” reducers for race applications
Premium quality hardware included
Optional ceramic coating (thermal barrier)
360 degree Tig & Mig welds
Oversized exhaust ports
Update for Friday 4/5/13
Next week, the BAMUFFLER Tundra will be fitted with the final prototype version of the JBA 6400s headers. If the fit is good and the dyno results are up to par, then they will be sent out for production. JBA has yet to give any word on pricing. We are expecting these to be ready in 3-5 weeks with a GB taking place for the first run just for TundraTalk members.

Based on the Nissan Titan headers the MSRP is in the $600-700 range for the whole set. GB pricing will be discounted for the first run of 100.
I am not sure on the time frame as the product is still in development & then would have to go to manufacturing. I would think 7-10 weeks.

Does "whole set" include the midpipe?

Any chance that JBA did any Dyno testing or comparisons to the DT/OBX?
It was done with the Shorty headers (DT vs JBA) about 3 years back on TS..

Dyno tests have not yet commenced but I will be sure to post any information that is sent to me. I almost positive a dyno will be done.

I would expect 30hp over stock if everything after the headers is built correctly.

Installation would require the removal of the rear cats like the OBX/DT LT?

Correct, that is where the mid pipe comes into play. It was the same design on the Titan headers.

The
JBA Long Tube header , with JBA Midpipes, coupled to a BAMUFFLER catback could be the ultimate exhaust setup for this truck

Thanks guys. I agree, this would b the ultimate gen2 exhaust setup.
Another option I will certainly offer do this setup is cats, resonators in place of cats, and of course 3" true duals for the big boys
