Improving my fuel economy.

So what can I do to improve it? is it possible me for me to average 17--18mpg?

Thinking about doing TRD air filter what else?

Garage
I have headers, intake, straight through exhaust with h-pipe, cat converters gutted, removed the spare tire and some other stuff for weight reduction on the truck and I haven't gotten much better gas mileage at all, I get 15-16mpg in town at the most and before all of that I was getting 14mpg. It's hard to get good gas mileage in these trucks, but oh well it's a truck

It all just depends on how you drive. I make a daily drive of 60 miles on open, flat highway, and about 3 miles in town, but i set my cruise on 55 mph and never passed anyone, and got 20 mpg for the tank, and my truck was completely stock but that was the most boring tank i have ever drive after i leveled the truck and put 295/70R18 terra's on i tried the same thing and only got about 17-18 mpg

Aries 3" Bullbar, 295/70R18 Terra Grapplers, 5000k DDM Tuning HID Highs, 3/1.5" level lift, Valentine-One Radar, Blue Led dash swap, Blue led Dome and Door Lights, V-LED Blue Footwell Lights, AVH-P4200DVD

Somewhere this was discussed already, and someone recommended the best mod for this yet and it doesn't cost you anything. Slide your seat back until you can barely reach the pedal (can't floor it that way). That will fix 95% of us on here's gas mileage problems.

Theres not much to change that I can figure out. I have my BFG AT tires as winter tires and have freeway tires for summer, they have less rolling resistance and weight less. I run premium gas only. Though most say it is a waste of money I disagree I mostly running 17 -19 mpg in the summer and 14.5-17 in the winter depending on how much 4x4 is needed, whats an extra $20 bucks a month to make me happy. I also run Mobil1 ext 0w-20 full synthetic. A light right foot helps also. I watch my info screen as it gauges mpg while I drive. I can see when I am getting 2.8 mpg vs 99 mpg. Low numbers and your heavy on the throttle, I can dial it in on the freeway for 17 - 27 mpg at 70 and see where the sweet spot for mileage is. Or drive like normal and get 12 or less.

Like I said in another MPG thread, the BEST AND FREE mpg mod you can do is pushing your seat back so it's harder to reach the pedal

17-18mpg AVERAGE? Easy...cruise control at 65mph, all the time!

17-18mpg average combined city and highway?
-tacoma
-ranger
-sonoma
-honda
-volt
-bicycle

If you ever wanna find out how to get 12mpg, and HAVE to put in premium gas, ask me and I will tell you.

complaints from the super charger world? I would expect bad gas mileage their. But you can get off the green lights fast -- till the next blocks red light. Yeah, thats not a great option for boosting gas mileage. It would be fun down at the local drag strip though!

No sir, you are incorrect....I actually don't complain about my mpg, I brag about it. 12mpg with 35's and 504 horse....that will piss off a tree hugger in a second.

My commute to work is 7 miles, and I MIGHT put 7500 miles tops on my truck per year.....no complaints at all.

Yeah, I'm winning. I guess you missed my sarcasm
