My times last night weren't all that great. It was a last minute decision to go so I just left everything on and wondered how much time I would lose by going heavy on my CM. With the DRs, its best to go as light as possible. My best time going light was a 9.2 on a 1/8th track, last night being heavy I only hit a 9.5. Next time the Truck is going to be stripped naked to see what that does..-LoL..
I tried a new setting (I have an 07), it was with the traction control and VSC off and tow mode on. No red ALSD on (it was off). The truck shifted really good, but to my surprise it was a 9.6.. Bottom line IMO the truck is only N/A and "it is what it is".. I'm good with that and Racing is a Rush like no other..
btw, I beat my buddies new 5.0 F-150... too many governers on that thing..

Awesome pics man, did you turn the "nannies" off? Looking at this thread really makes me want to go race! haha
Hey Josh, you're a racer too right?
and Oh yeah.. I tried all sorts of "racing combos" with this on, this off, etc.. Tow Mode always sucked, but having DRs on changes everything. I had to start trying my old combos that didn't work on street VR tires..
Sorry about keeping repeating all my sayings and attachments on different threads, but if you ever race at a track, Drag Radials or Drag Slicks (if you can find a wheel/rim to fit) are a total game changer..
I just wrote this up on another thread from the races last night:
F-150 update...
So my buddy brought his new 5.0 F-150 to the local tracks.. On our 1/8th mile track he kept getting a 10.04+. It's all good and fun, he has heavy stock governing on it. So on our way home,.....
on a rolling 70mph, we both go WOT.. HE IS PULLING BIG TIME ON ME.. WoW.. WTF!!??
He quickly reaches his speedlimiter of 95mph and it's like his brakes went on.. I go screaming past him until mine cuts in at 109... Wow,, what a Rush..
Conclusion... that 5.0 has some serious baals all leashed up. When he passes his 36,001 mile mark, he's going to get a programmer to release it all,, then we'll see who's King of the Hill! -LoL and again here's what my Drag Radials do for "hooking up" on launch..
I think we will hear all sorts of anecdotes about the Ford engines, some faster than ours, some not, but one thing is guaranteed. They will have aftermarket support that will walk all over anything we have.

I love my Tundra, but I will have to consider a F150 rcsb 5.0 when it's time to trade.
I was optimistic that someone would eventually offer a tuning solution for the Tundra when I bought mine, but looks like that is never going to happen.

Wow, you Shotgun? From Titan to Tundra to a F-150??-LoL
On my buddy's new 5.0 F-150, he says that although it's not a locked out ECU, IF he were to try to use a programer in anyway, its logged into the truck and Ford would void all warranties. He also said that there was something in the truck that comunicates with Ford, something about it's "sync" thingy. Not sure what thats all about. Then although we all seen how Ford put those new engines through torture test, they apparently didn't so do that for their connecting transmissions??. There is a buzz about lots them going out before 10K miles. Like any first year vehicles, just wait for the 2nd+ year for the bugs to be worked out. I think I got lucky with my 07 CM, I better stop racing her.... but I can't help it! -LOL

Rumor is that all mfgs are going to start logging software changes to void warranties on vehicles that have had the software altered at any time. (other than flash updates performed by an authorized repair facility)
We had TONS of people trashing trannies and rear ends behind Cummins with the pumps turned up. It cost chrysler a ton of money. I caught a regular customer who delivered travel trailers to dealers. He was disconnecting his speed sensor to keep mileage down. The PCM had estimated his mileage in excess of 200K, but he only had 50K showing on the odometer. I called him out on it and he never showed up again.
Aftermarkets will always find a way. I would guess piggyback controllers would become preferred, or perhaps even whole ECMs replaced with aftermarket ECMs. Either way, I don't give a s**t about logging, I need torque.
