I wanted something a little different... so I had this done....







It's dumping air towards the firewall and back of engine for now. But, I've got the box that fits to the underside and eventually I'll force the air to the CAI area.

It's custom. A marriage between subaru and toyota.

It was a working trade with a great custom car guy... He just happened to have the subaru scoop in his goody-pile. We both agreed that it would look very good on my truck... and ta-da... there it is.

Good job. You got me wanting to run by the local tuner car spot and see if they have any of those lying around. Now it looks like you cut a hole in your stock hood?

I've got to figure out the best way to get the air to the intake at some point... But, for now... it's keeping the back of my engine very cool.

Thanks Dave. I looked at the 4-runner / Tacoma ones as well. Every one that I looked at was non-functional.... just for looks. I wanted it to be an under-statement... not overwhelmingly large... So, the Dodge styled ones were out for me... I love that it's a a small slit... not too bulky... and functional.

Yes. My custom auto-body guy skillfully calculated the correct spot to put it... and he cut a hole made just for that scoop. I don't mind at all. It's just metal and it looks awesome to me. :-]

Not sure how hard it was. My hood was off for a week while it was being done. During a snow-storm too...

I know that the guy doing it is a rock-star in the custom body world... so, I'm sure it was normal difficulty / easiness for him.

Hey man, no problem. If you go with an intake go with one without a box, K&N or aFe both make them without a box over the filter. Witout the box it'll help cool the engine more.
