08-09 tailgate backup camera and monitor

I finally decdided to pull the trigger and get the backup camera and monitor for my 08 crewmax. Using the internet I found a lot of dealerships (including Sparks) who had the camera at one time but were either sold out or it was on back order. Well it is not on back order it has been discontinued, apparently Toyota has changed the wiring and camera options in the 2010 models. Once the dealerships check their warehouse they will see that they can't get it for you now or ever. If you find one at a dealership they retail for $300, but the parts manager will probably cut you a deal like the dealership in Mishawaka IN did for me. Hope this bit of information helps someone.

I did not get the deal on a website I actually got a list of dealers in the northeast who had a camera in stock and I started calling. The dealership in IN was fourth on the list who had both the camera and monitor and was willing to deal.
