is that solar detector new? have you had a chance to test it out yet? hows the range/sensitivity? i live by mine. i had both a passport 8500 and a valentine 1. sold the 8500. the valentine 1 is simply amazing. although the price tag is a bit high, it pays for itself.

How much does a decent detector cost? I've seen some for $500.00 plus!

not to jack this thread, but i highly, highly, highly recommend the valentine 1. nothing can beat the directional arrows. the range and sensitivity is amazing. i doubt any of us will be too crazy with the speeding in our trucks, but the v1 has saved my butt an infinite # of times in my acura. your lookin at around $400 for a new v1.

For radar detector tests and reviews check out:

Radar Detector Tests and Reviews by Guys of LIDAR

The Valentine 1 consistently scores at or near the top in every category and and has done so for almost 20 years. I have had one on my windshield since they came out and have upgraded it several times over the years. I currently have the 3.861. I lost count years ago of how many times it saved my a$$, and I don't drive anywhere without it.
