Can you polish stainless step bars?

I got the chrome door handels and mirror covers. I added a little chrome to my grill. I have big shiney chrome wheels being delivered Monday. And I have the factory stainless step bars that came with my truck when I bought and I like the look of them. Question is can the stainless be polished to look more like chrome and less like a brushed finish?

You should be able to but it's a lot of work. You will want to remove them and use a buffer wheel. Getting the whole thing mirror flat will be hard to do.

Yeah, doesn't make sense to me either. Basically I got banned for having my own opinion on this site and I didn't fit their idea of a "TundraDork" or whatever they changed their name to.

I thought they had a anodized finish. Best to replace if you have to have chrome, which I don't recommend where it may rust or some stainless that is not brushed. I have some hunter stainless boards with rubber ribbing the entire length that are close enough to chrome for me. It was less than $250 shipped
