I'm in Canada, so, as usual, it cost more here. I paid about $850 installed (although it looks like a monkey with half a brain could install it).
So far, I like the unit. No complaints. I have to carry quite a bit of stuff for work (tools, etc.), and hated the thought of fillilng my backseat with all that crap, so this unit works great with the locking tailgate.

Great news ..... cover was on the porch tonite.
Bad news ... they sent me the rails for a Tundra w the rail system.

Can anyone without the rail system show me some up close pics of how the rails mount so i can see if there the same .. i doubt it as they make 2 different part #'s.

Guess i get to wait to install it

The name comes from my old streetbike i sold TL1000r .. loved that bike. I use the handle on all the messageboards.

Update .. I lucked out .. the rails are the same with or w/o the bed rail system. So i ended up with some free nut and bolts and some aluminum brackets. Put it on this morning and love it!!!

Came home from a quick mall trip with the wife to find my new Homelink rearview mirror on the porch.. installed that bad boy and programmed my 2 garage doors and calibrated the compass and then had a nice cold bud light lime.

Good saturday

After doing some research I decided to go ahead and get the Bakflip G2.
It looks great and is also very functional. It "should" be waiting for me when I get home next Tues. I will be good to go for my trip down to Florida.

I purchased the bakflip HD.

Well I finally bought my cover. I purchased a bakflip HD last week. I understand it was a new at that time. I have a story to tell about my visit to the factory. but I have to go to work. It well have to wait. But for now I just thought I'd try to post some pictures. It looks the same as the ABS, but it's aluminum. first time sending images, so let's see if it works?

oops, it looks like I'll have to wait for those photo's. I haven't a clue of how to post photos with that link that pops up.

So the bakflip will install with no issues if you do have the bed rail system installed?

NO! Well, sorta, it installs no problem, but the bolts that they send to attach the rails to the lowering brackets are too big and you cannot move your cleats up and down the rails. They get locked in between the bolts. I'm going to fix this by buying some stainless flat head bolts (the kind you would have to use an allen wrench to tighten---they sit flush tho!!!!!) and changing em out with what BAKflip sends.

Other than that, install is easy and mine barely even leaks. (a tiny bit at the corners)

Cabelas has the BakFlip G2 for the '07-08 tundra $599.99. the older model tundra cover is quite a bit more expensive.

Instead of the G2, you might want to consider the HD. I haven't written much about it because of time, but it is nice. It looks the same as the G2, but it is aluminum. It cost a bit more! I really haven't seen any advertisement on it. I went to the factory and met Ivan, who seems to have the largest office there. I'm sure he's a major who's who there. He showed me the panel of the HD. They are foam, sandwiched with two aluminum panels. He proudly grabbed one (single) panel and put it on top, between two barrels and had me sit up on it. I weigh 200 lbs, and it took the weight. I started to bounce around on it, and Ivan smiled and told me to get off his panels! They seem pretty strong to me. Ivan and I talked politics, while they installed in on my truck. They were very helpful. Just something you might want to consider. If I new how to post pic's,,,I would!
