Help removing Chrome grill piece

Whoever has removed this front chrome grill piece, how hard was it to do? I took a quick look and saw the snap in tabs under the hood, which looked like they would snap if I applied any force whatsoever to them...Any help or advice on the removal process would be greatly appreciated!

This is the piece I need to remove

No problem at all! Hopefully it is just screws...its the half arrow shaped tabs which snap over a lip in the black grill insert that is worrying me lol!

I would suggest removing the whole grille and then removing the chrome piece. I have removed the whole grille before and it's not too hard to do. If I recall correctly, you have to remove the black plastic piece on the top of the chrome surround. Be careful with this piece since it can break easily. To remove it, you need to get your fingers or something under one side and pull straight out parallel to the ground. Once that piece it out, it gets easy. remove the 4(?) bolts behind that piece and then the 4(?) bolts that attach the whole thing to the hood. After it's off, maybe it'll be easier to see how to get the chrome part off.

Thanks Tox, will do as you recommended above...I did remove the black strip to install the bug guard, and hopefully it wont be too hard once the whole grill is off.

Ask dbdolan. I don't think its the best way but it works.

Tundra vs. Downed Power Line at 55 mph.

This is the piece I need to remove
When I put on my AVS bug shield I had to remove the grill.. Yes it has bolts to remove first. It also came with a plastic screwdriver too...

From my experience, the easiest way to remove that part is to hit a deer at 60mph....
