$10 cargo divider mod for OEM bed liners :)

Hello,

This is my first post, so I thought I'd post something constructive

I read a few threads which mentioned the slots in the OEM bed liner for the wood 2X6 dividers, bot found nothing specific on how to cut them to fit (I had one on my 98 Tacoma I just sold).

So, with some measuring and my miter saw, I got to work. (a circular saw would work but hbe harder to use- a table saw would be like cheating )

Directions:

Go buy 2 2x6x8' boards at your local hardware store. You can probably use one 2x6x12' board and save some money, but will not have as many options for chopping and cleaning up the ends, or you'll run out of material!

Shave the ends to clean them up. Then measure 66" and cut the BEST part of each board to 66" exactly (you could try 66.25" for a more snug fit, but mine turned out perfect at 66").

This is the part where the miter saw helps..

Now, make an angled cut at just under 3 degrees on each end (well, it was 3 notches on my miter tool, so it was either 3 or 6 degrees- try 3 first). Your board should look like this: \__________/

The cut has to be at the bottom- the top remains 66" across. Don't worry about the small 'flats' at the top- they stick up over the bed notches anyways.

And you're done! Stick them in your truck bed, and you have 2 nice dividers to keep your stuff from sliding about.

For an extra fancy touch, you can paint them black, or use herculiner to 'rubberize' them. Mine are plain wood for now.
