Color Keyed Door Handles
After reading the DIY article that was on another site I decided that my doorhandles should be the same color as the rest of my truck. (afterall the back ones were) I ordered a set from Sparks Toyota and got going on the conversion. The wife was afraid becuase usually it takes much more time and a lot of patience (which I have very little of) when doing these things. For example the Billet gas cover I put on my HD2500 Silverado- This was supposed to be a 20 minute job. Ended up 4 hours and had to do cutting ,drilling ---you get the idea. Well the door handles were a 5 minute job at best. Everything just came out and went back in like it was supposed to and NO CUTTING OR DRILLING! and they look nice! Also put in a photochromatic mirror with a compass. That was even easier. Although I did loose a screw in the truck somewhere. Found a replacement -- no problem. Here are some pics. These Tundras are soooo easy to work on.

No paint needed. You can order the Sequoia handles from Sparks and they fit the Tundras. Sequoia handles are color matched from the factory.

It was an easy mod wasn't it. I got mine from Sparks a few weeks back. I have a Slate Met Tundra, and I've been color matching everything. See my Signature. I just posted a new color matched mod I did this weekend. Check it out! Color Matched Bumper Valance & Fog Light Covers

Sweet
Ok, I am going to have to do this mod. My Crewmax is silver. I guess that I can get both the front and rear door handles that are for the Sequoya. Tell me how you were able to remove and replace the handles. It looks tough to me. Do you have to remove the door panel? Thanks,
Scott

It's VERY simple when you open your door, you will see a little black circular plastic piece on the inside of the door itself, pop that off .. and you will see a little hex screw uncrew the hex screw (don't worry about it falling in the door, there is a little lip) once that's unscrewed .. just pull out the smaller part of the handle .. and then wiggle out the bigger part like he said, 5 minutes tops.

Scott- There is a really good DIY on another website complete with pics but it is just unscrewing that t-30 torx screw under the plastic cap in the door. Do the passenger side first as it is really easy then go to the drivers door as you have to pop out the lock on one part. IT is very very simple and looks great after your done!

Boy, that seems very simple! Thanks for the replies. Now I am wondering which handles will look better, the silver or the chrome. I have a chrome set of step tubes with the brushed aluminum wheels that come with the TRD offroad package. I have the black tow mirrors as well as the silver and chrome body side molding. Tough call.....
